- For example, one style of speaking would be sarcasm. You might take it as a compliment when somebody says, "You're smart.", this is not a compliment. The way it's spoken is in a sarcastic manner basically calling you smart, but implying the fact that you're stupid.

- Four levels: Formal, informal, colloquial, or slang.
- Formal: Done in proper or regular form.
- Informal: Suited for everyday use.
- Colloquial: Spoken language or writing that seek the effect of speech.
- Slang: Language occurring in casual and playful speech, short-lived coinages and figures of speech.
- EX: Milk or melk and caramel or carmol.
